Poll: highest quality HD maker?

Well, I'd say Seagate, but I'm basing that on their superb SCSI line.

I am leaning towards the new Seagates that are supposed to be ultra quiet. But, I would hate to make that decision without first askign the good people here if, in their collective wisdom think Seagate sucks.

Well, if you're looking for an IDE drive, I'd recommend the Western Digital WDXXXBB series of drives(where XXX is 200, 400, 600, or 800). Seagate is a good company with quality products, though.

I personally like Quantum, they make awesome 320-MB drives.

It's quite obvious that Fujitsu makes the best HD's today. I've got 2 of 'em for the last 3 years and absolutely no problems or bad sectors.

I've always used maxtor and have never had one go bad on me yet....
