Excuse the play on words but Im in a mood to laugh.

I have a diellema at the minute.

Im looking at a nice 1700+ T'Bred B DLT3C :) A VERY VERY VERY rare find in the UK. (just found it this morning) for half the cost of a 2500+ (my only other option except a DUT3C T'Bred) and I need to cool this thing.

Im planning to overclock and have sorted out Motherboard and memory geared towards this. I also want to keep this quite quiet while performing.

I have looked up recently on some good heatsinks and Im still unsure. Remember, Im from the UK and Ive checked US -> UK shipping costs and laws. US prices are just as expensive as they are when they arrive here. Before taxes, you guys are dirt cheap.

Id like to be as cheap as possible but I want the best. I would like to squeeze in a few little extras with spare cash, a Xaser II case would be very nice in Steel (very budget :)). Nice blowholes that I dont have the guts or equipment to make myself.

This poll is help me decide. Ill try to put up rough prices as I find them or they change to help you.

i'd go with a SLK-800 because it provides good performance at a not too high price and you can find 80mm fan easily as they're common
wish you luck on your overclocking endeavour
mine definitely did well:D

I would say go with the SLK800, but the SK7 would probably work very well too. I believe people have said that the difference in cooling between the two isn't very much, but I have never used the sk7 so I don't know.

Id love to get a ThermalRight heatsink but its the price issue.

If I was in the US, I wouldnt even consider having second thoughts on purchasing an SLK-900 in my current situation but as things stand, Im not going anywhere near America so Im stuck at what Id call outrageous prices.

I agree that they are the best, from all the reviews and opinions but I have doubts that I can even justify the fact of spending more than double £ on a heatsink and fan combo over something good but not top notch.

My V7+ is a decent performer at the minute. Not researching enough in my earlier days lead me to crap case fans and I cant hear the HSF over the top of them. Im working out of an OEM rather small case with 1 80mm lower front and 1 80mm upper back below the PSU. Id like one of those Tt Xaser II's due to the Steel version being £65, pretty much modded up already, coming with some case fans and the Hardcano already in the top. Im not into modding my own case too much at the moment, not enough cash to needlessly replace parts. The Xaser II should provide me with enough fan spaces to keep airflow there but at a low noise.

Id like to know something which is hard to figure out I guess. If I put something rather weak like a Panaflo L1A on my intake and exhaust, do you think it would be sufficient to circulate air around? My case is roughly 17" tall, 17" deep and 8" wide. Sorry I cant do too much to help any theory but any info needed, Ill try to provide.

There isn't really a huge difference between the sk-7 and slk800, at least to my understanding. I use an sk-7 and it does a great job for a good price.
