Our idiots in charge of purchasing computers for the school system have them filled with Macs. Now they're crying they need another levy passed. Where do we get the money to buy Macs over PCs? WTF teach kids on Macs, when there's a 95% likelihood they'll be using PCs wherever they end up working? There's also a 90% or more chance the computers these kids have at home are PCs. Damn, I'd like to kick these morons in the ass! :|

That's the last place I had the unfortunate experience to 'try a Mac'. Totally pissed about the whole thing...

Well ... I played around with a Mac for quite a bit .... Installed and used Yellowdog Linux on an old Powerbook 3400. I also played simcity 2000 on it when I had mac os 8.6 installed.

Granted the thing is like 10 years old ...

I haven't played with a new mac at all though ...

The last time I used an Apple was in 1998. I needed it for an English paper. It crashed 3 times and I was late to class.

Yes, a friend of mine has a 2 or 3 year old iMac using OS 9.xx

It's total crap. Slow as molasses and crashes constantly.

I thought the only reason school districts got macs was because Apple pratically gives them away to educational institutions. Otherwise it would seem a very poor decision to choose them over PC's, I agree. The last Macs that I really used were the Apple IIe and the Macintosh classic, so it's been awhile. 😉

i used one for a period of time in an internet cafe. i was just checking my email and such, so i didnt really get a good handle on it. pretty interface. and seems to be good at opening ie and keeping it open. but the one button mouse still is weird. my pc mouse has 5 buttons and one scrolly. one button just doesnt cut it.

I wouldn't mind having a dual 2ghz G5 but I don't want to spend that kind of money on something I didn't customize.

Why should I try an Apple when I know I am right by blinding saying how stupid it is because everyone else must be right? Plus if approached on the issue I will lie and say I used to have one or tried it out in an Apple store for several hours before attempting to slit my wrists. 😉

I like them, not as much as a PC but they have a definite use for many people that will never open their cases. I had an Apple //e back in 1985 and was a big fan until they lost it....my current PC is actually an evolution of the PS/2 I have in 1990.

My wife wants to ditch her VAIO for a Powerbook
