Background for thread.....

I have never had it, even though my sister caught it when we were both young (13-ish) and lived at home.

My sister came over to visit with her 3 young children a week ago. Noticed a few little dots/bumps on my oldest niece, thought nothing off it. After a few hours, more bumps begin appearing....My sister jokingly said it's probably chickenpox, and that I might finally get it. ha ha ha we all laugh, few days later, I find out she does have it!

So I'm a bit nervous about getting it now, (I'm now 27 and still have not had C.P. or measles) I've heard that it's kinda bad to catch it as you get older....

I was 6 years old...1st grade. Was out for 2 weeks.

I wouldn't worry about it. You might have had it as a tiny kid but didn't break out much therefore no one really noticed. My youngest had that happen. Just a couple dots but no real breakout. My other ( older ) kids had it bad though.

caught it from my sister (mom made me get it from her) pfft. it was bad! all over my body it was nasty from what i remember hahah

Yes, at around 5 or 6.

I was 21 when I got it. Was performing in a repertory theatre company. Owner only let me miss 2 or 3 days of shows.

Get the vaccination - chicken pox in adults hits much harder than in children.

Got it my freshman year in college.......fortunately I think it was during a week when we only had 2 days of class(fall break or maybe Thanksgiving break). It wasn't much fun.....that's for sure.

I had it in 2nd grade. A week off from school to sit around and watch quality children's programming. My teacher at the time sent home work to do for the week to stay with the class. I remember finishing it in 2 hours.

It is dreadfull when a adult. I had it at 25 and felt like i was going to die.
