I was watching some hilarious gaming rage videos which inspired me to post:

I’m going answer #3. I’ve never damaged anything but I’ve bashed the spacebar on my keyboard and clicked my mouse buttons really hard. Also a bit of swearing.

I punched and broke a monitor once playing Doom II against some friends.

broke a few keyboards as well over the years. I've found competitive gaming gets my blood boiling easily.

I've never hit or smashed anything... When I was a kid that would have meant no more gaming and as an adult I've never had a tendency to physically lash out...

But there have definitely been segments of games that have been so frustrating that I throw up my hands, say **** this I'm done for the day, and walk away.

I do remember as a child clenching my hands so hard in frustration that I could hear my SNES controller groan under the stress. Never broke though, dunno if that was because I was a kid or because those controllers were built to last.

I put my fist through a wall (bedroom to bathroom, awkward...) as a teenager, my mother wasn't impressed but I repaired the damage myself that weekend. I think she put it down to the autism which is why I wasn't punished for it, just given the look, knowing that I could and would fix it.

The worst that I've done is slam my hands on my desk. Although, thinking about it, I think you're probably better off smashing a controller or maybe buying a punching bag, because breaking your hand or causing other damage to it is probably worse than a $40-60 controller. One time, I slammed my hand down hard enough that it hurt for a few days afterward.

Overall, I think I've gotten a lot more lax since that point. I got a lot better at just stopping if a game is getting frustrating or just even taking a short break. I also try being very clear and critical of myself if I'm the one that's screwing up. (I find we tend to get more angry if we think the game is "cheating us".) However, if I find that I'm getting consistently bothered by a game, I just stop playing. That's why I don't play Overwatch anymore!

Dude, I grew up with Nintendo.

So, yes.

That lead to damaged gamepads.

More recently, with PC...the occasional. I've definitely angry mashed a mouse button or two and slammed the desk a few times. It's way more rare these days, though.

I'm pretty sure I must have thrown my NES controller a couple of times, not at the TV screen though; on the ground maybe or on the sofa. I got more tolerant and patient over the years. But swearing and 'yelling' (more swearing loudly) is the most common one if it does happen to me. I never broke anything though, never actually punched anything either per se.

The "worst" one I can remember was throwing an actual cartridge, it was Batman Returns on the Genesis. It frustrated me so much and thought it was so bad that I just plain and simple took it out of the console and threw it against the wall really hard. From memory it's honestly the only thing I can think of where I would have damaged something (side note: that cart still worked anyway, it didn't break into pieces; it just hit the wall hard and it damaged one side and maybe one corner but that's it).

Some game I rented for PS1 was so frustrating that I pulled the disc, flipped it over and scratched the hell out of it on the table. I guess the rental place was able to repair it because I was never charged for the game. Other than that, no not really.

Used to have plenty of gaming rage but i figured if i am not having fun with a game which is the point of playing a game in the first place then i will simply not play it anymore. No other game has ticked me off more recently though then BF1 and i uninstalled that thing with the quickness.Between god mode with flamethrowers and horses, the losing team getting god mode weapons when losing and the overall casual feel and lack of content makes me rage at the fact i spent $60 on this turd of a game.A close second was Duke Nukem Forever,i still suffer ptsd cause of that game. :(

Punched a Slate 10 tablet with my knuckles while using it to play walkthroughs for the latest Tomb Raider game. It wasn't being very responsive and that's what got me mad. Didn't have any affect on the screen that I could tell.

But there has to be some damage to it, I punched it several times in less than 10 seconds. Maybe I'll find something wrong with it later. I'm only 140 lbs, maybe that's it. It still seems to work ok a month later for other video walkthroughs of games. No way would I ever do that to my more expensive screens. That's the only time I ever hit a screen. Hit keyboards before yeah. But it still didn't damage them.

I used to play Warcraft 3 on a really junky laptop on its last legs... So one day it had crashed one too many times so I chucked it into the closet and just left it there.

I also died in a Path of Exile race because of desync one time while I was top 10, kicked my chair across the room and it flipped over and put a hole in the wall with one of the wheels.

I also had a keyboard that bugged out during a Wizard Wars match. I smashed the heck out of the keys and threw it into the basement.

The only one I regret was the wall... That required repair. I was planning to replace the laptop and keyboard anyway so it wasn't costly to take out some rage on them. I'm not as competitive as I used to be... But lag, crashes, bugs, and things beyond my control still make me flip out sometimes.

Back in the day you really had to try to break an Atari 2600 joystick.

Don't make them like that anymore.

Yea they were tough but the rubber covering for the joystick itself would slide off after a while. I have fond memories of proper button mashing in those days, tried it with a SNES and it broke lol.

just recently.

A tricky cliff jump in Far Cry 5 that killed me about 10 times in a row.

I actually stood up and said: "POOP!" really loud.
