yea, i think you always wake up before death. ive fallen off of many cliffs, gun shots, etc. and i always wake up before death.

I was thinking it wasn't possible to die in your dreams because our instinct to survive wouldn't allow it. And there's the Urban Legend that if you die in your sleep, you'll die for real, because the body cannot live without the mind... but again, that's just a legend. I think it has more to do with self preservation... you people that have experienced death in your dreams... are you massochistic?

I don't know about falling to my death, cause every time I'm about to fall off that cliff, my legs and lower body try to adjust for the edge/fall and that motion alone wakes me up.

Whoa. I voted yes, and now that I think about it - I've always woken up at the instant just before impact, and often find that I go "UGH" and my body moves as if attempting to absorb an impact from whatever offending object in my dream was going to kill me - the bottom of a swimming pool, a bullet, a sledgehammer.

Fortunately, my unconscious has no problem carrying other acts out to completion, if you know what I mean.

Yes, but I mostly dream other people die, when I have dreams where someone dies.

I've died in dreams and at the moment of death, my consciousness would "jump" to another person in the dream, and suddenly, I would be the new person watching the old person die. Weird.
