I heard a bunch of people saying that they were sunburned when it got up to almost 100 this week . I guess this is a white person thing?

I have never been sunburned, and I spend all my summers outside. BTW, I never wore any of that sun block crap that people always buy and put on their nose or whatever it is you people do with it.

Darker skinned people are more resistent (?) to sunbruns.

And yes, I've got them before - during marching band, we'd be outside marching all day in the football fields (this is during high school).

I usually burn on the 1st or 2nd day on a trip to Florida...started using SPF 15 or higher on the 1st 2 days and it's been a lot better ;)

So what happens when you get sunburned??? Your skin turns red? What is a "severe sunburn"?

i have darker skin and i've only been sunburned once and that was from spending about 8 hours in the sun without sunblock.

now i don the sunblock just to avoid skin cancer. and to keep my tatoo from fading of course.

Yes quite a few times.

Worst was in Hawaii, when I got blisters all down the back of my legs.

I became fairly immune to it during soccer conditioning.

I bet I would get burned now if I spent the day outside with my shirt off like I did then.

skin turns red and is very irritated to the touch. eventually the skin peels off and you're left with a good tan.

SPF 15....Sun Protection Factor 15...not quite sunblock but good enough to keep from burning.

A little. My skin is relatively dark, so I don't burn very easily. Usually the tops of my ears (ow!) and my back/shoulders.

I can't believe you have never been sunburned?! I try to get my burn over with at the beginning of summer because after that I generally won't burn a second time (very bad) that summer.

Skin turns red. Feels like, well, it's burnt. Blisters form and fill with a yellowish goo. I've had them the size of twinkies. Your muscles directly under the skin hurt as well. Lasts about a week.

I'm white as heck, so working or playing outside for a bit can get me sunburned if i don't wear any sunscreen.

How can you be so ignorant as to such a common injury? Seriously, you don't know what sunburn looks like? Would you be able to identify a bruise, or perhaps a scrape, or do those confuse you as well?
