Have you tried to make your own Vanilla Coke because it wasn't available in your area yet or you're getting too addicted and the thing is getting expensive?

I added 5mL of Vanilla extract to 150ml of Coke and it tastes horrible. Anything less, not enough taste. I'm done with this game. That is 25cents worth of Vanilla extract and it's not worth it for the price. I'll be buying authentic Coca Cola Vanilla Coke.

Try it with a sweetened vanilla flavoring - like the stuff you use to flavor snowcones and such.

bust out the fvcking scroll.

25 cents is a lot of money when considering 2L of soda can be bought for 99 cents. Lets see, 250ml per glass... 25 cents each glass, 8 glasses per 2L bottle... you could have bought 6L of Vanilla Coke and not had to mess around with vanilla extract/syrup which stains clothes like a mofo.

Which would you prefer?

WTF do you guys figure $0.25 for a teaspoon of vanilla?

last time I was at the grocery store, you get a quart of ghetto brand vanilla for ~$5 CDN.

lets see.. 400/500 = less than a cent per teaspoon.
:p

The real stuff is expensive. The fake stuff is priced about that.

Anyone try vanilla ice cream doused in Coke? I can't remember where I've seen that before but it's strangely interesting...

That's probably cause vanilla coke is some chemically manufactured artificial flavoring.

I could be wrong, but I don't think vanilla extract is meant to actually make something taste like vanilla...i think it's used in baking to enhance other flavors, is it not?

You should be using vanilla syrup. The kind that they use at a coffee house.

Yes and no. It gives a distinct flavor, but it is complemented and enhanced by other flavors too.

Vanilla extract works well with 7up though, i have no clue why. It just doesn't seem to work with Coke or Pepsi.
