Poll: Has HBO become as common and "necessary" as the 3 Major Networks?

All their original programming, sports shows etc, has HBO become a Cable MUST Have?

I could do without most of the other premium stations but i seem to watch HBO Shows a lot. anyone else?

Nope, Fox & FX are more necessary IMO 🙂

fox and fx are not premium stations so they don't really count.

with most cable / satellite setups you have to pay for HBO/ Cinemax/ Showtime etc. of the premium stations, in my opinion, HBO is the one that people are MOST likely to pay for.

OZ, The Sopranos, Sex in the City, The Wire . . .

i think they have done a good job of getting away from JUST being a Movie station.

Don't forget about Six Feet Under. That and the Sopranos are my two of my three favorite shows. What's The Wire about?

Personally, I couldn't watch something like Six Feet Under or The Sopranos on HBO b/c I just can't wait a week to watch the next episode. I HAVE to have it all available in a DVD Box Set so I can watch it all in a week or so!

....patiently waiting for the fourth season of the Sopranos to be released in October...

The only "necessary" channels for me are the History Channel and the Travel Channel, but I think both are going downhill. :|

The History Channel: don't play movies (2 were on that I know of yesterday, I can watch movies on 100 other stations), Nazi Sex Toys is going too far imo...

The Travel Channel: I don't give a sh!t about Las Vegas!!!!!!!

All hbo shows is mr. deeds, red october, and minority reporrt.

Not really. I haven't seen Red October on HBO in a while, same with Minority Report (they show it for a bit when they release it, then it fades away).

I dont get much out of Arliss or Six Feet Under. Arliss isn't my type of humar.

And I don't get this 5 different HBO's gimmic. It is just 2 HBO's x 2 for different time zones and one latino station. I would not even consider HBO Zone.

Lets see what Zone has planned for tonight:

1. RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS 9 PM
2. TART 9- 10:30 PM
3. THE MAKING OF RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS 10:30 PM

I mean wth is that? That is just crap.

Other than that your choices are soprano's, soprano's , or the soprano's. Don't get me wrong I love that show, but that for scheduling is utter shite.

i'd take Fox, ESPN and HBO over the 3 major networks.....

doh! forgot about conan.

BUt yea, between the sopranos and boxing, and the occasional flick, HBO is wicked important donchaknow
