i just took a look at that "dumbledore isn't dead" site and the only thing so far that i found exciting evidence that supports dumbledore faking his death is:

Harry, with the aid of the Half-Blood Prince, produces a perfect Draught of Living Death, which was introduced to us way back in Snape's first lesson in the first book. Interestingly, in pratically the same breath, Snape also mentions the bezoar which also figures prominently in Half-Blood Prince, and also wolfsbane, which we know helps Lupin later in Prisoner of Azkaban:

"For your information, Potter, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As far as monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant... (SS/PS pg 138/103)

also, snape talks about the inferi and whatnot in the book. if you look through the books, you see that snape tends to talk about stuff that is important to the task harry's got to do. is it possible that the entire cave scene was staged? could it be possible that the inferi were put there and the locket was put in the basin by dumbledore and the potion was made by snape (the half-blood prince knows how to make perfect draught of living death)? all of this could have been staged just to get harry to do what needs to be done...

if you think that's outlandish, just think about 'the prisoner of azkaban' and think about the interaction between sirius, snape, and lupin. if they're all order members, how could snape have honestly accused lupin of anything other than good intentions? how could it not have been staged in order for harry to learn the truth? that is what dumbledore's plan was, anyway, wasn't it? dumbledore wanted harry to know the truth... he knew sirius was innocent WAY in advance to the point where hermione used the time-turner.

It seemed obvious that Snape was trying to tell Harry Potter what he needed to work on and do in order to confront Voldemort. I would have to believe that Snape and Dumbledore both agreed on this and planned it out appropriately. It is very likely that they knew that the only thing that would get Harry serious enough to really perform this work was to think that Dumbledore was dead. This being the case, it is possible that Dumbledore is not dead, though he might actually be dead. But wasn't the funeral closed-casket? And yes, where was Fawkes?

exactly! that's what i was thinking, too.... dumbledore could have faked it in order for harry to do what was necessary to become the hero. without prodding, he would have wasted his time hanging out with ron and hermione, snogging ginny, and playing quiddich rather than practicing killing the darkest wizard who ever lived. how else is harry going to learn occlumency if there's no one good enough to teach him? how is harry going to find the other horcruxes when ron and hermione don't know nearly as much of the history that's involved?

something that frustrates me is that harry should have grabbed a bezor before he went with dumbledore to get the fake horcrux. wasn't it mentioned earlier in the book that you should always carry around a bezor just in case? you'd think after what happened to ron, he'd remember.

the funeral was hagrid carrying dumbledore's body draped in a velvet purple cloth with golden stars. you never see dumbledore... you just infer that it is dumbledore (especially with the whole phoenix-shaped smoke thing). after the pyrotechnics, the table with the body became a tomb after a lid sealed the body inside. i'm just not certain that there's a body in there, though... especially after that phoenix smoke thing.

sidenote: just because kids read harry potter books doesn't mean that they're only meant for children to read. before i got into harry potter, i used to feel the same way... then, i gave it a shot and got instantly hooked. it's addicting as hell.

There are also the initials R.A.B. that were on the note left with the fake horcrux. Remember Sirius's brother Regulus? Rugulus A. Black? Dumbledore would have know him and I don't believe in any way that he didn't know that the horcrux he was taking Harry to was a fake. He knew it was.

I don't know if you've been there or not, but if not, check out http://www.dumbledoresnotdead.com . Plenty of fun stuff there.

glad to know i was on the right track, though. makes me feel good.

Chuck Norris ruins the endings of Harry Potter books for children who just bought one for the hell of it. When they start crying Chuck Norris calmly says, "I'll give you something to cry about," and roundhouse kicks them in the face.

Wrong. Dumbledore committed suicide so he wouldn't have to be roundhouse-kicked in the face by Chuck Norris.
