No, the real reason they were made was because there's no "visible panty line" when wearing tight trousers, however they caught on because men find them sexy.
 
No, I haven't. However, I don't find them very sexy on women, either. I prefer the low-cut briefs that ride high on the butt cheeks. I remember distinctively the female agent in Rush Hour 2 wore one. HOT!!!
