I finally made the switch since $40 for a wirelessG bundle was too good to pass up.
Honestly though, you need a good laptop battery life to really take advantage. My 2-year old battery (work supplied) lasts only an hour these days.![]()
I have been sitting on a couch than a regular computer desk since feb. in fact, I don't even have a desk to use with my lappy.
my lappy battery > yours, I can easily get 3 hours out from the battery.
my laptop + wireless is great for bathroom.I'm hoping to get my T40 from work soon... that should do it.

256bit WEP with MAC address filtering isn't secure enough for you?Originally posted by: Acanthus
No, dont plan to
Wireless needs to get a lot faster, a lot cheaper, and a lot more secure before ill even consider it.

As for speed.. as long as you're getting at least a 3.0mbps connection, it shouldn't matter much unless you're on a faster connection than that, or do a lot of LAN stuff.
Heh, I don't really know anything about wireless, don't look at me.Originally posted by: MercenaryForHire
Where's the "No, waiting for more speed" option?
BTW, AES encryption + RADIUS > WEP+MAC filtering.
