It must be fun being able to make such sweeping generalizations. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I've had multiple relationships and don't spend every Friday and Saturday night sitting in my parent's basement eating Cheetos and playing MUDs. =P

Perhaps instead of viewing it as all ATOT members are goovers unable to score with a gal (or guy) instead view it as most people here aren't closed minded tards and realize whether their SO can cook or not isn't a dealbreaker for a marriage.

Or maybe we aren't like Jerry from Seinfeld and think there are more important things to a potential mate other than does she currently know how to cook. Of course, if she's so incompetent at cooking that she literally can never follow a recipe, that would be a big turn off because I don't like people who are that flighty.

the people who voted "yes"... have low standards.

If I gotta open the jars, you better know how to cook what's inside em!

she needs to at least know how to follow directions on a box. i personally love to cook (just an ok cook). but basically, being able to follow the box means she's at least a competent person :p

Anybody can learn to cook, hell my buddy's wife goes to this place where you buy all the ingredients pre-measured with a recipe. The dinners are pretty damn good too.

No I wouldn't. Knowing how to cook is something basic you need to know regardless of gender. Not knowing either implies the person is unhealthy, or fiscally irresponsible. Just my opinion.

i'm from an educated part of the country. so, no, it doesn't matter whether the girl can cook or not. it's not her job to be my chef no more than it is mine hers.

The art of cooking was lost two generations ago.

We have become a culture of "dining out".

After giving this considerable thought, I have come to the conclusion that this is actually more efficient and economical in the long run.

Think about this...

Restaurants specialize in buying bulk products in quantities that ensures their timely use, there is very little waste, and you have paid chefs preparing the food for you.

At some point we will no longer have kitchens. That means no big fridge, no dishwasher, no garbage disposal, no kitchen trash, no pots and pans. Instead, we'll have breakfast nooks consisting of a small table, small fridge, and a small pantry. Even that might be unncessary considering that almost every restaraunt is now selling breakfast.

There is still a lot of waste, trust me.

Yeah, if it was some sort of utopia cafeteria. However, the reality is that dining out consumes insane amounts of time and money. To top it off, it's rarely healthy.

I confess I had a girlfriend who was good at all aspects of sex. But after being invited over for dinner and she proceeded to empty some cans on the stove for dinner I dumped her. Sorry, but if you can't cook you can't be with me.
