Wow....very interesting results...

Indeed. Kerry is rather uninspiring, too bad Iowans picked him over Edwards.

Which almost every other state has done too;)
Edwards had a strong showing here. If he hadn't done well here he might not have gotten much attention elsewhere.

IMO, the desire to oust Bush is so strong that if Iowans had picked Edwards, he would have taken Kerry's place. The "everybody loves a winner" mentality.

Sure - and dean would have gotten the "big MO" too if his "big storm" would have been more than a few flakes.

And there is no way Kerry can carry a Southern state. The South will not vote for a Yankee democrat and the only reason why Clinton won was because he was from Arkansas and managed to carry some Southern states.

Almost a 4-1 margin in favor of Edwards now

I think LA is in play since they are quite contrarian. FL isn't really part of the South but I think Kerry will carry the state even without the senior senator on the ticket. NC may represent b/c even the Republicans in this state are running against NAFTA, WTO, etc. KY/WV aren't really South but they typically vote like it. Both are in play if Kerry invests the time and money . . . a lot of both. TX, MS, AL, GA, SC, TN, AR are pretty much lost causes but most other states have enough intelligent people that the race should be competitive.

The results are not surprising. I hope Edwards wins the primaries because voters as a whole seem to favor Edwards more than Kerry. I drew this conclusion a week ago and this only is more proof of it.

I'd be careful looking for "proof" in the opinions on this board.;)

Aye, this forum is not a good sample of the American public's opinion in general because we tend to be a bit smarter ;) (don't let that inflate any of your egos :|...... ;) )

Looks pretty unlikely but I seriously hope Edwards can beat out Kerry for the nomination.

I wish Edwards had made a bit of a trip out west. Would have been great to have won one out of Idaha, Utah, or Hawaii heading into Super Tuesday.

When was the last time we had a Yankee Democrat in the White House?
Clinton was from Arkansas
Carter was from Georgia
Johnson was from Texas
Truman was from Missouri
Hoover was from Iowa
Wilson was from Virginia

FDR was from New York incidentally he also started this welfare crap
JFK was born in Massachusetts and was a very non-liberal democrat

Edwards might not be the best man for the job, but if had to choose between Bush, Kerry and Edwards. I would have to go with Edwards for the simple fact that he would get Ashcroft out, continue the war against terrorism, level the playing field regarding trade imbalances with other nations, and he is more for state rights and downsizing federal spending...Not to mention the fact that he has not been in DC long enough to become worthless and would bring a fresh perspective

Edwards tends to rely on what he knows, and avoids comments on unknown subjects. That beats Kerry. Edwards doesn't waffle on his views, that certainly beats Kerry.

Could Edwards beat Bush???? We may never know.......

To bad today is the end of the line for Edwards......

I will vote for Bush anyway but I do feel that Edwards is a much better choice than Kerry.

Kerry can't win a thing outside of major liberal cities come November.........

This is actually a very good reason to vote for him. Though, some people would claim he has to little experience to be a president. But when you think about it, the guy was a lawyer, so his BS detector should be pretty good. And seeing as he seems to hate/dislike lobby groups (or atlest he claims to), he'll be less likely to blindly fallow the advice of others without thinking on it first.

Heh, alot of people I know share that opinion. Most people I know, be it people who will vote for Bush and those who will vote against him, feel Edwards is a much better choice than Kerry.

You may want to aim a little lower (goals should be challenging, but achievable)
