POLL: funky case

I'm also case shopping, and looked at this. I don't care for the bug eye look to it. Some friends of mine got the black aspire x-dreamer 2 case. It's "nice", but looks a little cheapish. I didn't tell them though, they loved it.

I'm looking for something simple, clean looking, maybe silver (prefer blue), and a brushed aluminum look (not happening in blue I suppose). Any ideas?

Aspire x dreamer is a POS!

First thing I thought when I saw it was "Strongbad." But he's not all blue.
Now there'd be a design for someone to try - with Strongbad's permission of course. 🙂

I think it would look better in black!

I have an Antec Sonata now, and the longer I have it, the more I love it. The shiny black just does it for me, with the chrome accents.

aspire aliens are pretty good from a design/cooling standpoint. good airflow, built in fan control, lots of drive bays, 1 more 5" then a normal antec/chieftec....

and the door, i like doors, it covers the powre/reset and you can lock it, doors muffle noise from optical drives and doors keep a case looking clean. most other cases look fine, until you install an optical driveand it looks way outa place.

I have 1, it is very nice, the fans can either be very quiet, and still pump some air, or sound like a wind tunnel if you crank them all the way, then papers move on my desk. Powersupply doesnt bat an eye even overclocked, as it has 34a on the 12v rail. Whole thing looks alot better in person.

It's the same basic Casetek design as the Antec 160 and Sonata, the Enermax 1018x series and the Athenatech 8xx series along with several Aspire and Casetek models. Very good case design and you have a wide choice of styles if you don't care for the garish. The design is available in a choice of steel or Al and total no. of drive bays too.
