i understand that you can listen to both FM and satellite, but are you willing to give up your XM/sirius for regular FM radio?

also, if you have a unit that takes the satellite signal and transmits it over the radio frequency onto your car stereo, can you tell me how it sounds?

I keep it because my job requires me to drive all over creation. If I ever left this job for a job with a local commute I'd probably drop my XM subscription.

Nope, wouldn't go back to it ever. Once I got a CD player in my car I stopped listening to it and now with my Sirius radio it's just it & an occasional CD.

Honestly, for me, its worth the $10 a month. I'm not the channel-flipper type of person though. At first you have a tendency to flip channels like a madman, but eventually I figured out what stations have music that I like, and then I'll just leave it on that station. Helps introduce you to new music as well. FM is worthless unless you like country music, top 40, or local talk.

I bought sirius about 6 months ago, and one for the wife last month. Neither of us would go back to FM.

Sirius here: I would never go back to FM. I have a Kenwood HU with Aux inputs which my Sirius Tuner plugs directly into. I also put in new speakers. I can't really use the FM transmitter where I am (near NYC) since the channels are already taken. I wouldn't do that anyway. Why get a good sounding system and satellite and note have a good connection to your sound system. It's worth it to get an aftermarket system and hook it up via the RCA cables.

Let's put it this way: if I *had* to lose my satellite radio, I wouldn't even listen to FM again. I'd rather listen to nothing. (same kind of thing with broadband and going back to dial-up)
