Poll: for those of you with DVD burners, do you even use CDRs for anything anymore?

I am on my last spindle of CDRs and am wondering if it's even worth using them instead of DVD+Rs for anything. Now that you can get a 100 pack of TY DVD+Rs for $30 shipped, I wonder if CDRs are even worth it anymore.

I don't think I've ever burned more than 100 CD-Rs, ever since I got my first CD burner - a 2x2x6 drive, for $200. Never did much care for CD-Rs. I'd use RW's if anything. 😛
I do use DVD-R and DVD-+RW though. It does provide a more useful amount of space.

Also, there are times we need to copy discs that are not DVDs.

Yea I was thinking of that, but wondered if it would be better to rip an image of the CDs and store them all on a single DVDR.

When a friend wants someth9ing I lend them a CD-RW and I expect it back.

I'm not using a DVD-R(W) on something like 300mb only. Unless its like they want all 4 seasons of Family Guy....

Plus, if it's big enough just network transfer.

The only thing DVD-Rs are good for are movies...

same here Hacp, i also have the 3540A and never burned a dvd with it =\.

Don't worry. My 3540 has been making up for your two.

@ Hacp and amplemind: I think someone needs an introduction to newsgroups. You'll actually get to use that burner! However, the downside to having a dvd burner and newsgroups is unavoidable: your computer will magically never turn off...I haven't figured this one out yet.

@ OP: I used cdr's when I had a car, but now I have neither. My iriver h320 satisfies me at the gym, and my chevrolegs didn't come with a headunit.

I don't burn DVD's very often either, I've got 4 DVD burners but usualy just burn CD's with them. They are just so cheap now it would be a waste to get anything other than a DVD burner.
