I don't need to be a vegetarian to say no... at least not unless it had been around for several hundred years.

If you have ever seen Star Trek:TNG, that is how they get all of their food.

It takes energy and converts it to matter.

Therefore nothing dies when you eat your food. Left overs are put back into the replicator and are converted back to energy.
