The mini is too small for my hands. I have to bend my thumb past 90 degrees to use the wheel. The regular size ipod is much more comfortable in my hand.

I have a 3g iPOD I just use the firewire since it came with it and all my computers have firewire.

Use firewire, duh. It's the only advantage the iClod has over other players, might as well milk it.

USB2.0 charges the ipod mini, and as for it being faster, that's only on paper. i used firewire for my regular ipod and usb for the mini and there is absolutely no noticeable difference between the two.

Alright, that's what I thought. The reason for my original question is, I used to use Firewire till today and I found out USB 2.0 is faster when I tried it today. I guess I'll keep using USB 2.0.

For the mini, the bottleneck is the hard drive speed. Both USB 2 and Firewire are faster than the hard drive. However, with fast chipsets and fast desktop hard drives, Firewire is faster than USB 2.0.

When the mini goes to 6 GB, I'm "upgrading" from my 15 GB 3G iPod.
