personally since i was in the middle of developing a huge website and already had tons of hacks for IE and Opera I figured I'd play it safe and leave 2.0 on its own... 3.0 is installed separately for testing though...

recently I've been getting daily nags about updating my 2.0 to 3.0.1 and I'm considering finally going ahead and doing it...

what about all of you FF users out there?

Yes .. had it a few days after it was out of beta.
Working fine, but I did do a few tweaks to it.
There is a thread about in this forum.

ironically enough because of its improved supports of standards such as CSS3 and JS1.8, which in some rare cases could break code that was optimized for FF2 (because we didnt know any better at the time...)

I have it installed alongside 2.x however i still use 2.x because a lot of the extensions i use aren't updated for 3.0 yet.

FF 2 works perfectly for me - no need for 3 yet.

I have been using FF 3 since the second Beta release I like it a lot and it is faster than 2.xx for me.

I don't use FF in Windows, but I've been using FF 3 for a while now since it's been in Debian sid.

I haven't because I don't see any reason to upgrade.
Mainly because I haven't seen anything that makes it stand out as a must have, and because I haven't checked extensions etc so I don't know what will and won't work, and I don't know how easy it will be to transfer everything across (including forms stuff, saved passwords, history etc as well as bookmarks).

I installed over FF2, and everything transferred perfectly. If you want to be safe, back up your user directory, and it can be replaced in the event of disaster.

all my plugins work with 3.0 now so why not.
its faster. more stable, and uses less memory.
tweak the "awesome bar" into 2.0 and its great.

I had to revert back to FF 2.0.16 after upgrading to 3.0 and having it lock up within 30 seconds. Ditto for FF 3.0.1 No idea why, didn't seem to matter what site I opened to. It seemed to have a memory leak quickly going to 430meg memory use and 25% cpu even on just google.com I waiting for the next patch to try upgrading again

I was running 2 and a message pops up a few days ago urging me to download and install 3, and I rolled with it. 3 installed and I was running 3. However, sometimes  2 opens instead. Weird. I didn't install in a different location but just had FF upgrade. I searched for a separate install location but didn't detect any. WTF? I look now and it says 2.0.0.16 is running.

So, have I upgraded? Hell if I know.

I was using Tab Mix Plus with FF2, but there's no version with FF3. I may have to ditch FF3 until there is. Or maybe not, but I do like Tab Mix Plus.

IMHO FF 3.xx is the best browser

With all the add-ons avail, and customization you can do, nothing else can touch it :)

Well, I just decided to try FF3 for the first time today (after backing up everything). So far, a few of my must-have add-ons are not working. I found a dev version of one that seems okay. One addon that claims 3.x compatibility doesn't actually work, so I'm trying an alternative that sort of works, but is much slower than the other addon in FF2.

FF3 locked up on me while typing a search into Google the first time I opened the browser. Not a good start. I had to kill the process. Since then it's been working okay.

I went through and deleted and disabled all the new features that clutter up my normal layout.

So far, I haven't noticed any improved performance. The only changes I've noticed are that some of the old FF2 features are slower and there is more clutter and consequently less information on screen (more scrolling and button pushing to see info that was available on one screen in FF2).

I'll give it a week and see if there are any catastrophic deal killers. So far, it looks like I'll be able to live with it. I'll have to upgrade anyway when they EOL FF2, so I might as well get used to it now.

I haven't seen any new features, performance or layout changes that would lead me to upgrade if I didn't have to.
