I don't hate it - I started dating someone with the aid of it 😛 I knew this person IRL, but like, saw them on myspace and stuff happened 🙂
 
Those who have 100+ "friends" on myspace and spend 8+ hours every day chatting in kiddyspeak shall suffer eternal damnation.

As long as the people you have on your friends list are people you actually know in real life then it's ok. Otherwise it's a lame popularity contest.
