[POLL] - Ever order anything from those TV Infomercials?

Just curious.

Not talking about things from HSN or something, but just those actual commercials for one item. Magic Bullet, Grip n Flip, Little Giant Ladder, etc.

I don't think we've ordered things from TV but we get things at Home Shows when they are showing off products. Sometimes they work OK but at least if it's a well known thing they'll be back the next year so you can get a replacement. heh.

Yeah.... I don't sleep much so one night I was sitting watching something about giving me more energy throughout the day. I was like "Wow, that's cool" I called and ordered it. Then promptly called and cancelled it.

I have some "As Seen On TV" products such as OxyClean and The Amazing Eggstractor and RocketChef, but I've never ordered anything directly, I just find them on clearance in the stores where they are supposedly not sold.

I never did, but my parents do every once in a while. The stuff is always pretty crappy.

Bingo.

Rule of thumb... if it's cheap, it's probably cheap.

Watch the infomercials closely especially when they're demoing the product. They either have a trained professional using the product, or the product screws up and doesn't do what it's supposed to do at least 5 times.

My fiancee ordered those smart spin containers and they suck. They leak like crazy. I use them almost like disposables now.

I guess I never answered the quality question. OxyClean works quite well, although OxyClean is really no longer an "infomercial" product.
I have never used the Eggstractor. It was $3. Every so often we have to make deviled eggs and thought it would be handy...if it works.
The RocketChef is the bees knees. Of course considering that it's essentially a hand-crank food processor, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with it. For some applications, I actually like it better than using the electric food processor because it does not chop/grind as finely.
