I just use WASD because I'm used to it. Some games I've played used them as defaults, so they naturally grew on me as FPS gaming movement keys. I'm sure ESDF would work if I used it often.

I've always used WASD and move my hand over so my ring finger is on the A.

But, I'm gonna try out ESDF next time I open up UT2004 or BFV.
