I have narrowed the field of MB's down to the 8K7A+ and the A7M266. I am looking for a stable combination with the potential for overclocking as I get more experience. I would also like to be able to add the new AMD Processor (Palamino?) later. I will be using an Antech case w/300 watt fan.
I plan to install the following on the board that I select:
512 MB Crucial DDR Ram
1.4Ghz AMD processor
Thermaltake Dragon Orb 3 CPU Fan with alarm
Santa Cruz Sound Card
ATI Radeon 64mb DDR Video Card
A good DVD
Yamaha CD-RW (can get the new 24x for $249)
Network Card
I have been watching your forums for some time now. Is there a better CPU Fan/HS? Will the 300w fan work ok with this combo? Will the SC and VC work with either board?? Any problems with either board unsing the 1.4 AMD if not o/c'd?? I have built several computers but overclocking is new to me. Any obesrvations, changes or recommendations woud be MOST HELPFUL.
