Poll: Enable the Forums CHAT feature!

Last time I checked, the chat feature had problems for those not on broadband. It might significantly increase the server load, which is another consideration.

now way....thats what icq for...forums are slow enough as it is with the load on the system and its resources already.

Yeah, it'd be nice. But no way should it be enabled. We get enough "forums are experiencing extremely high traffic" messages as it is. Imagine if the servers had to deal with a massive chat room too? Between ICQ, AIM, and IRC, there are plenty of places for people to get together to chat.

They could just create a separate server for the chat room, but I have no major desire for having another chat room to frequent, or seeing tons of new threads about "look what happened last night in the ol' chat room", "It's my birthday, come to the chat room", etc.

It would bring the server to its knees in an instant. It requires way to much resources to run a chat server. It would probaly have to be fee based to support it. Can't rely on internet adds to much for money.
