dreamcast. Such a nice machine overall. Not as powerful but then it is older.
All the 1st party games rule. THe only reason I will buy another console is because sega is now developing for them.

DC has gone beyond my expectations as a system, especially as a hackable one.

PS2 was fun, but again, simple things like controller ports really pissed me off. The dvd player was good, but without vcd support, it kinda made it useless. Also, I was sick of using my controller to play dvds, and I didn't want to buy a $hitty remote to use.

all in all, I am glad my ps2 is off my hands, and a nice dc controller is in it.

spiral on.

I like the DC (SoulCalibur hasn't been topped anywhere yet), but I have to prefer my PS2.
DVD playback is nice to have, games are getting much better, very fast (GT3, MGSolid, Red Faction, and coming soon: Madden 2002, Tekken 4, VF 4, etc).

Yeah, its only got 2 pad-ports, but I can't stand playing on split screen anyway. Add in the i-link, usb and the coming harddrive/ethernet port & it definitely has more to offer in the near future than the DC.

...not to say I wouldn't pick up a cheap DC just to play soulcalibur though...

<< I know what's a PS2 and it's rocking.
DreamCast?
Is it something still in someone's dream and hasn't made reality?
DC = Dead Crap.

typical sony zealot too ashamed to admit how awesome a DC is. if you think there are no games worth playing on DC then your a phony who doesnt know what a good game is anyway.

edit: and if you dont believe me look at the poll.

I absolutely love my PS2. I absolutely HATE my DC.

The DC has great games and great graphics and great sound. I just can't use the stinkin controller...way to bulky and awkward.

Does anybody have a solution to my dilema...like is there a PS style controller for the DC?

PM me if anybody can help. I'd love to plac my DC games but that darned controller :|

There are adapters, I don't know how well they work. I prefer the DC controller, but I never played much psx.

I miss broadband a lot. I'd get 2-3 games a day sometimes. Never did manage to find SoulCaliber, or when I did, it was 30 files (ack!)

I've heard rumors you can clone a DC game with cloneCD by putting it in the CDRom drive, but that it only works on some. Never tried it myself, so it may just be that

I love DC fans...*says the dc fanboy*

Anyone wanna play some NFL2k1 this weekend, pm me!

DC rules. I have not seen one PS2 game that I would want to own, much less buy the system over.

jeez people, they are both great systems.

i'll add some fuel to the fire: :)
The main reason for so many DC fans is they are too cheap to buy the games. Look at their collection - 100 DC games to maybe 2-4 PS2 games? pretty compelling reason to prefer a DC.

Dreamcast Dreamcast Dreamcast.
It's actually a way to filter out true gamers (like men from boys).

Hey, I bought all 20 of my games. They are so cheap anyway, why not shell out $20 for the real game rather than having the mono-sound, missing cut-scene warez versions?

As of this day, I have seen one, maybe two games I'd like to play on the ps2 (RedFaction and maybe Onimusha). Nothing else has impressed me (yet). I believe the vast library of games for the DC makes it far superior (now). But, given time, the ps2 will wow me, I'm sure. When the ps2 has been out as long as the DC, it will be a different story alltogether.

I couldn't be happy without both. Right now I'm playing Chrono Cross (a PS1 game) on my PS2, just finished Red Faction (awesome!), and am waiting for FFX and GT3.

Meanwhile my DC is running Skies of Arcadia and I want to pickup Grandia II asap.

Its all good! :)
