Times change and DVD drives are becoming more and more popular. Just looking to see where everyone stands on this....

I picked up my first DVD drive during the Black Friday festivities. Lite-On dual format burner.

EDIT: For those that can't figure it out.. If you built your machine and put a DVD drive in it at the time you built it, then it came with one. If you built a machine and then added the DVD drive later, then you added it....

Had a DVD reader until it broke, now saving up for a DVD writer, hopefully get it in a couple of weeks or so (after my new HDD).

what if I built my own and I included it originally? should I say "the machine had it from the start", or "I added it on"?

DVD reader, btw - Lite-on 165H

That's what I'm wondering. I have a DVD-Reader in my Desktop, and a DVD burner in my laptop. I can't decide which one is my main computer because I have recently been using my laptop a lot more than my desktop.

Oh just pick one. Main concern is the top 4 versus the bottom one. Just to see what percentage of people have any form of DVD drive available in their PC.

I don't have a DVD in my main computer because I would rather watch DVD's on my home theater instead of a 17" screen. I do have a DVD burner in my laptop though, so I can watch my Netflix when I travel... And make backups of DVD's I already own. Yeah that's it... Backups.

Well, 84% DO have DVD capabilities so far. Not sure if I thought it would be so high or not. Now of course they'll come out with the Blue Laser kinds and we'll al have to start over again. heh.

I built my computer with a DVD reader. My next computer is going to have a DVD burner.

I have 3 DVD readers and 1 DVD writer, and I built the computer with all 4. Where the hell is the "I'm a DVD Messiah" option

My primary machine doesn't have one, because I don't need it and wouldn't use it. My iMac, however, has a DVD burner, and my work laptop has a DVD player.
