POLL: Does your job keep your interest?

Queasy

Since you hear people going off about their job here regularly, I thought I would create a poll to see how well their job keeps their interest.

No, it doesn't. I like doing my job, but at the same time I don't get any satisfaction. It obviously isn't what I want to do. I think I'd like to go into arts or something like that.

I really like my job,my co-workers rock and my boss is excellent.I have nothing but praise at this point.

It did for a while, but right now there is so little work that I am bored out of my mind. I am stuck in support for a product that has had all future development canceled (basically no new versions) but we are required by contract to support the existing versions.
And a request to transfer has been all but denied.

My job rules when I have the opportunity to be there and actually working.

Not sure I could find a job here at school that I love as much as that 🙁

It does overall, but from day to day I get unmotivated and just sit here on ATOT.

My company is very relaxed on supervision. Mgmt's mentality is that everyone can govern themselves and there is no need to report to supervisors for progress reports and such... so as a result, I slack & productivity drops to like 50% since no one's breathing down my back.

Yes it does, you never know what's going to drive through that bay door in the morning 🙂

"I am in the depths of boredom hell! This must be retribution for something I did in a past life!"

My job as a temporary is so repetitous, so boring, same thing day in and day out. I am glad to have a job that pays as well as I am getting.

No, but thats because I dont have a job because the stupid people who have the jobs to give out wont give me one. Selfish baggards.

Just show me the poll you sickly bastard.
I chose this option...more for the opportunity to call you a "sickly bastard" than to actually look at the poll results. 😉

Learn some skills and try to be polite, calling them stupid and baggards is one reason why you are unemployed.

Standing up or bending over ?

Definitely....In R & D, there are always an excitement of new discoveries and finding answers during the experiments😀

I've been working as a QA Analyst for six months now for a credit reporting company (no, I can't do anything about your credit score). It was interesting at first but now I am hitting a wall where I am starting to get bored at times. The problem is I was a business analyst working on a cellular billing system previously and want to work my way back up to a business analyst/consultant. Now that I've learned quite a bit in my current position, I'm getting bored at times but can't apply for a new position until I've completed a year.

I have been working on the same project since June 2000 and it is still not deployed on an un-named Federal Agency's LAN. We were about 3 days from official deployment in February when yet another group of people put a hold on it. This agency which has a non classified LAN that is in no way connected to anything including the internet running machines from Pentium 133's all the way up to current machines all with Windows 95 and featuring such wonderful apps as WordPerfect 6.1 (the buggy 1994 Novell version) claims to be concerned about security.

Given the current economy I just tell myself to be grateful I have a job.
