I got thinking about this, mainly because I've had a very mixed experiance with this.

The current gf? Well, she complains if I start playing too much, but she actually enjoys sitting down and watching my play warcraft3 on battle.net, which is kinda odd but fun...

I usually can't get her to touch a game herself, unless she's been drinking... in that case, she is all about mario party, mariokart, and super smash bros on gamecube.

In the past I've definitely been with girls who were anti EVER touching a console, which when stacked with another handful of small things definitely caused some waves.

Whats the deal with all you guys, ar ethey supportive, or haters of your habits?

not all of us have a gaming addiction... :)

I probably average about 1 hour of gaming every 1-2 weeks (at least until gran turismo 4 comes out :D)

I don't have a gaming addiction, but spend way too much time online.

The b/f knows nothing about computers and surfed the internet twice in his life (both for engine parts).
He cannot understand my fascination and sometimes gets frustrated with me.

Me and my girlfriend play NFS: Hot Pursuit. It's good because in other games I can beat her most of the time, but in this one there are cops and other things to slow you down and there is catchup to make it more fair, so we both have a chance... its much fun.

It is rare for either of us to play games. Unless you count what happens in our hot tub when the kids are at grandma's house.

Lets see, im 18, and my gf and I have been together for about 1 year. Before i dated her, i DEFINITELY had a severe gaming addiction. Since ive been dating her, ive weaned off gaming, but i still play for a significant amount of time everyday.

Although she wont play games herself, except for the occasional Xbox game like halo of fusion frenzy, she is generally supportive of it and she has been trying to educate herself more about it so she can relate. Ive been pretty addicted to star wars galaxies lately, and the only time she will become upset with me is when i play that for extended periods of time..... or when she calls me and i sound distracted because of the game im playing.

My wife is addicted almost as bad as me. I started her out right on Quake, then she got the MMORPG bug with AC and it goes on and on after that.

We don't let it get in the way of other things though. It isn't like we are playing games all night every night, just sometimes.

I'm as much, if not more, of a gamer than my husband. Sometimes we argue over who is going to get to play. :D

Don't get used to it man. She'll quickly get bored with it. Especially if she goes to your house (if you don't live together), and you're on this damn computer with her there.

EDIT: LMFAO

Then clearly the question isn't directed to you.

My wife understands that I go through phases of gaming addiction. She doesn't generally mind me playing unless I start going overboard, which I have done on occasion. (staying up until 3am every night for a week and being dead tired the next day)
She gets upset if I stay up so late that I'm too tired to help with the kids or around the house the next day.
She also gets rather irritated when I ignore her all evening playing a game, then want her to pay "attention" to me at midnight when she is trying to go to sleep. Jeez, women are so difficult.;):D
