POLL: Does coke + sprite = Ginger Ale?

You know, when you go to a club, reception or something and ask for a ginger ale, the bartender won't have it but they'll say they can mix up coke and sprite to make one. Do they honestly think a coke + sprite tastes like ginger ale? I don't think it does.

This happened to me a few times actually. Once at a fraternity formal, once on a bay cruise, and once at a wedding reception.

I love ginger ale and also birch beer but can't find them in sugar free.

Yeah ginger ale has no sugar at all....which is why some people drink it.

One time, I was watching a movie when I reached to get what I thought was a ginger ale from my fridge in the dark. I opened it, took a sip, then thought, "This is some funny tasting ginger ale". My next thought was, "Do I really remember what ginger ale tastes like?" And, "This tastes kinda like Mountain Dew...smells like it too." I look down at the can, and by gosh, it was Mountain Dew! HAHAHA, eh, well, *ahem*, I guess you just needed to be there...

I think you are right. Or at least the same thing has happened to me at a few bars. I ask for a Gin and Gingerale, and they'll put: Coke + Sprite + Ginger Ale.

One time the Bartender even told me that's how they make GingerAle. (I'm assuming he was referring to the bar, not the Industry.)
