I don't own enough shares that my votes would make any difference what-so-ever.

The most shares I own of any one equity is 2000. There are 306 million shares outstanding. I don't think my voice will be hear. Besides, 9 times out of 10 the board recommends no changes and I am happy with my stock's performance...

I just voted my shares of GE stock. A lot of times I just forget about it (the proxy statement get put in a huge stack and I forget about it).

I've never gotten any ballots sent to me. What happens when you own shares through online brokerage firm? Do they still send proxies to your home address?

Look in the large envelopes your annual reports / quarterly statements come in. There are usually cards or sheets of paper in them that are proxy ballots. Easy to miss.

Yeah, they usually come with the books and what not. I usually toss them aside for the same reasons as above, my .000001% of the company doesn't seem like it'll add up to much, and usually I have no idea what the impact of voting out john doe will do and bringing in Joe Blow will do either. Etc.

I even own (trivial amounts of) stock in the company I work for, and I have voted on some of the issues there, but, even then it feels like a waste.
