I'm still trying it, but it just seems funky.

Sometimes it slows down the curser speed for no reason. One reproducable incident is when I open SiSoft Sandra. All of a sudden the mouse is at half speed or less. It does this on three seperate systems.

Apparently, Mouseware sees Sandra as a "Game." Because if I uncheck "Disable acceleration in games" the slowdown problem with Sandra and other odd times disappears. But unchecking that makes gameplay damn near impossible as the mouse movement is too skittish.

BTW, "Mouseware" is Logitech's driver and app for their mice.

I do, although I

know that it is not needed, I find it more convenient to use its settings.

I just have the cheapo Optical Wheel Mouse, and I do NOT use the Mouseware software. I have in the past, but I've had to reinstall Windows a bunch of times since I've had the mouse, and I haven't bothered in a long time. I play Quake 2 online and the mouse as is seems sufficiently accurate, etc., with the standard Windows driver.

I use one at work on a 98SE platform laptop. ST has us locked out (can't run any .exe files on the machines) so I didn't load the software. It works perfect without it.

I also have two at home, one on a 98SE box, another on an XP box without the software. No problems.

I don't need it running in the background.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

It has totally screwed up my Gaming mouse in the past, making the middle button unusable.

I tried it in the past, but it really isn't worth the time to install it. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I use it in gaming with the game acceleration option disabled, but I do have my main speed acceleration on max and the second one on medium, never really had any problems with the mouseware.

It had to be set for "Middle Button" in Windows rather than any special function, to be assignable within a game. With the MouseWare Advanced utility that is no longer the case.

mx duo elite keyboard/mouse combo.... I love the softtouch Quiet-ness of the keyboard and the mx700 is the best mouse Ive ever used. No I dont use the logitech software... No real reason to and I dont want something else running in my start menu. Plus the keyboard wont work with Winamp and it makes xp never shut down!
Asides from that... Love um both, I let windows handle the underground operations.

No, my mouse is just fine without some extra program. What extra stuff does Mouseware do anyway?

The sample rate can be increased up to 200 and the buttons be set to special functions like Smart Move, as said, et c.

I am surprised at the reported problems. Can you say user err? I knew you could.

Um, NO. The "disable acceleration with games" option DOES cause problems with some non-game programs. Sandra is one perfect example, but I've had acceleration suddenly disabled just by opening IE on odd occasions.

"The XP wont shut down" or takes way too long to shut down issue is a KNOWN issue with iTouch keyboard software when used in combination with some hardware/software.

Logitech has a history of buggy drivers. I had hoped they had cleaned up their act, but it looks like they are remaining true to form.

BTW, you can increase the sample rate without Mouseware through the Device Manager > Mice > rightclick on mouse > Properties > Advanced Settings tab

No, I didn't like them and have no problems using the native WinXP drivers or mouse controls.

I have a MX700 and always use the MouseWare Drivers, because the scroll buttons cause really jerky screen scrolling with the standard driver. Nice and smooth with the MouseWare. I have no problems in games (although I do always install the "GameWheel" registry patch)...

That has been fixed with the latest iTouch software update,I too had the long delay shutting down problem, but once I upgraded to latest iTouch software it`s no longer a problem.
