I sold my laptop, because I didn't really use it much. I have a desktop and a Palm IIIc.

What laptop?

I've never liked laptops because they're always too slow. Maybe with the new A4 and GF2Go I'll have a think about it.

I don't use laptops unless forced to do so. I hate the keyboards; even on full-sized ones, they screw up the layout so that it is hard for me to type right.

I use my laptop as a backup machine or for travel. I don't really like using it all that much (P100 16megs of RAM :() It works ok for what I do - small programming, word processing, or just browsing the web. I seem to have a heck of a time trying to get online in hotels tho :frown:

No, there will never be enough, or fast enough HD's for laptops. I have 138GB of storage on my main machine, and my main drive is a 10K rpm SCSI HD. Where would I put all my divx and anime and mp3's?

Tho I am using a laptop rite now, watching Cast Away and being online too :D

Heck no!

Laptops are way too expensive, way to expensive to upgrade and way too easy to damage. I simply refuse to buy a high-end laptop.

I use a low-end laptop and a high end desktop.

i bought a laptop for college last year and its all i use now. i make it work like a desktop. i like how i can just bring the "desktop" wherever and whenever i want. another nice thing is that it takes up so little space, compared to the separate CPU, monitor, and keyboard.

i have a toshiba 2755-DVD, whadya YOU got?

I got a really good deal on a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop loaded for $1600 but discovered that I used it for oh about an hour ... so I sold it for a $200 profit. Of course whenever I see "laptop" in the Hot Deals forum I try and avoid it but I just can't! It's a disease, so I'm always trying to convince myself why I do NOT need a laptop but when they come out with this laptop I WILL BUY IT!

Mobile AMD anything
133MHz or faster bus
1GB RAM maximum
14.1" TFT Display (1024x768)
20GB 5200RPM Hard Drive (or is it 5400 on a laptop?)
GeForce 2-to-go
almost full size keyboard
magnesium bullet water coffee drool proof allow case
CD-RW/DVD combo drive
3.5" floppy
10/100 Ethernet
56k modem
Windows 2000 Pro
Office XP
External CD/DVD controls (for when the laptop is powered off)
USB
FireWire
in/out sound
composite video
S-video
whatever other video crap I have forgotten
super legendary build-quality (IBM)
awesome 24/7 tech support (Dell)
award winning design (Apple)
cheap (Compaq)

That about sums it up, what did I miss besides the kitchen sink?
