well, I have a athlonXP 1800+, 512mb PC-2100, but sometimes I get kinda frustrated with it. It is mainly fast, but I have issues every once in a while, even though they are probably not speed related.

I kinda wish I had a faster burner though, my 4x is just getting way to darn slow. My only problem is that it just won't break. I have had it for 3 years and burned over 500 cd's on it but nothing I do will make it die. as soon as it goes, I can get a new lite-on 40x, but until then.... grrrrr

<< I haven't thought of mine as slow since 1996 when I got my P133. Before that, I was trying to run Windows 95 on a 486SX/33 with an upgraded 8MB of RAM. It was sooooooo slow. >>

Man! I can feel your "slowness". Used to run Win98 on 486DX/66 with double upgraded (initially at 4mb, then 8, then 16, then gave up) 16mb of RAM.................It was insanely slow!

Dude! thats lame. You can get 32x burners for less than $100 now. You can hand-write the coding faster than that 4x burner you got..

I feel that my computer is pretty fast for running most games, and doing background tasks, but isn't so snappy with the Windows 2000 GUI. Sounds silly, considering it's got a GeForce3, 512MB DDR, and an AthlonXP 1800+ w/Asus A7V266-E... If I have Mozilla (.99) and edonkey running at the same time, the GUI is a dog..

I'm sort of wondering how fast KDE 3.0 would run...

800 P3 with 768 MB SDRAM. It's almost two years old and I sometimes feel it. But for most of what I do (internet, chatting, and some gaming, mostly CS), it's adequate. I may upgrade over the summer or something, but that's all dependant on the summer job I get and how much money I make.

I know they are cheap now, the only problem is that I can't really justify spending money I don't have for a burner when mine works. I am paying for school and I just bought an engagement ring, so even the $105 it would cost for a lite-on 40x12x48 would seem like a lot. Besides, when I burn cd's I get a good opportunity to nap for a bit while I wait :)

I have a 600MHz PIII system, it's slow on the latest 3d games, but fast enough for other stuffs.

My system if fast. *See sig*

Sometimes though, it still seems slow. Like that time I tried to open the 600meg picture of earth. It seemed HECKA slow. If HotChic reads this, I'm just restating that I said HECKA.
