I think it's a great idea that people can round up their bills at the checkout line to help out the NOLA victims.

so...do you?

Do you round up at the checkout line to help our red cross?

no.

After 9/11, I'm tainted in a negative way as to how charities actually help victims and their families.

If you want a reputable one, give to the Salvation Army. They do an extremely good job with thier funds.

United Way also. You gotta look at how many % of your $$ actually goes to aid the victims. I believe United Way does abetter job than the Salvation Army.

A few years ago I was SHOCKED to read that United Way was actually was one of the worst.

The Red Cross and untied way BOTH use contracters to distribute supplies and such so while they have alot of money much of it gets wasted on Admin and Advertising.

The salvation army actually is one of the best and while I have many issues with THE CHURCH I am very impressed with how they use resourses to deliver to thoose in need.

The red Cross has done a pretty good gjob with Katrina but the eye is on them now while the salvation army has not had the news clippings I believe alot of that has to do with the fact the orginization does not take a camera crew with them where ever they go😉
