rebooting is something that windows like to do also makes bill gate happy :D i hate it but I am forced to.
it is very time consuming i waste more time looking at my computer reboot then doing anything else.
well with dos you only need to reboot once and you're all set. no drivers to mess.
lock up, reboot was almost unheard of thought back in the old day and the requirement was alot less. computer are so fast these day but windows only utilize 50 percent of it most of the time which is why dos is alway twice as fast. booting into dos only take a few sec but it takes alot longer into window because again it is poorly written, not meant for speed but for slow thing and rebooting to tick off many many people including me :)
so i guess your folks are beginning to be aware that windows was catered to bill gate, not really user friendly is it? for dummies or computer illerate people. i could be wrong, he maybe using macs or linux for pure stability :D
btw, i still do alot of thing in dos prompt like deleting files and not having to deal with windows trashcan asking you sure about? lol, then again it will be gone forever? LOL
perfect hardware but software is not in par.

I reboot most of the time. If it's a minor program then usually I just wait
