POLL: Do you read a thread before you post?

I read the first, thats for sure, and if its a long thread, i wont read the rest, mabye the last 5-10 so I can figure out what they are talking about.

It depends. If the thread in question is one that I'm really interested in, I'll read through all of it before making any replies. If it's a dumb boring poll thread like this one, I just look at the first post or two. 😉

Most of the time, yes, I read every post. If it's a short topic or a longer one that's really interesting, I'll read it. If it's really long but not as interesting, I'll probably read the last half page or so before posting.

not going to waste time reading several hundred posts, unless of course it is a thread i started.

What he said.

"Do you read what a thread says before you post? I posted a question in general hardware a few days ago, and it looks to me like only one person actually read what I had posted... a little annoying if you ask me. Anyways back to the question, how often do you read the first post in the thread, or how far down do you read in the thread?"

It depends upon the situation. Most of the time, I read the entire thread or almost all before posting. However, there are times I just post without reading past the original post and maybe two posts below. In those cases, I am either in a hurry, the thread is lame or the posts consist of meaningless contents also known as "neffing" and doesn't merit reading the posts.

I read the first few to get the gist and then I post my opinion. But if it is a thread full of juicy goodness then I read the whole thing.

I read them but there are posts by certain menbers that I don't even bother to read. The group of Anti Americans and the idiots like Happy Puppy and the rst of the neffing vermon that have made this forum sh!t.
