I turn my laptop off, but my other PC just stays on.

Im thinking about moving a PC back into my bedroom (so nice since everything else is in there)
if I do I'll probably turn it off cause I can't sleep with much noise around me.

I do have a question though.

When I STANDBY (I put hibernate at first) my PC the CPU fan stops as does the drives, etc... it gets super quiet.

is it normal for the CPU fan to stop? will my chip overheat?

Which computer? Heh... got too many to put all of them to sleep. Of course, one of the main rigs I am sure to tuck under the covers, and I sleep with another one.

You bet, I even tuck it in and give it a little kiss on the moniter. My PC does like a night light though, and the Mac nightmares arent nearly as severe as they were a couple of months ago.

I have only been booting up once or twice a week lately.
At school all day and work at night...
I always turn it off when I am not using it though.

I turn it off. I need to help conserve energy so those rolling blackouts don't come again =(

I've grown to get used to the sound of my computer (it's right beside my bed) and now I can't sleep unless there's some sort of sound :)

Two of them share the same monitor and it goes off. The other machine is used as my TV/radio so it is always on unless I am not in here.

I got two computers in my room, my main machine and the server. The server is really quiet, can barely even hear it. My computer sounds like a jet engine but I still always leave it on anyway cause i'm usually downloading or something but i'll just play music while i go to sleep and then it's no big deal.

I just turn off the monitor. It does not turn off the harddisks, those are far too busy with Kazaa and stuff anyway.
The moment I wake up I can reach out and turn on the monitor again :)

My Macmares just keep getting worse like they are the prophecy of some sort of Macageddon. I will fight to the end for the PC though and my computer sleeps well knowing this at night.
