the reason we put coleslaw on our que is because we have sophistacted pallets. you see, we appreciate the textural contrasts between the hot, cooked meat and the fresh, crisp, cold cabbage.
I am originally from South Florida and never thought of putting coleslaw on a BBQ sandwich. Three years ago when I got stationed here in Northern Florida, (Fort Walton Beach), myself and some guys from the shop went to a BBQ joint and they put it on. Both were from North Carolina and said that I really had to try it. Well needless to say I am hooked. I won't eat a BBQ sandwich without slaw now!
