The turntable is actually my parents', and they use it to listen to my dad's huge collection of classical and jazz music on vinyl. It's just some crappy combo machine from wal-mart that has a dual tape player, radio, amp, and turntable all in one. 🙁
I do still play LPs on my trusty old Dual 621 from 1978.
So, what do you use? >>
I've got a 1970's Sony receiver/turntable. Receiver is Sony componants but the turntable, while integrated, is a Dual. Finding Pickering AT-3 styli is a pain though. I'll need a new stylus in a year or two and I'm not sure where to get one.
Micro Seiki RX1500 FVG used in studio for reference and converting vinyl to 24/192 ADAT's. Some people actually want to convert to inferior CD's! :Q Imagine the horror!
I've got an Onkyo hooked up to my received on which I enjoy my growing collection of vinyl. CDs suck compared to the sweet sounds of vinyl. All my friends think I'm nuts until they hear it 😀😎
I've got a crappy set up right now.
2 Gemini XL-100 turntables (belt driven <ugh>) and a Gemini PMX-100 mixer.
It's utter crap, but it's been enough for me to learn on.
When I get back from boot camp I'm investing in 2 Technics SL1200-MKII's and a Pioneer DJM-300S mixer 😀
The only vinyl I listen to is my electronic music, everything else is on mp3 or CD.
I have a pair of Technics SL-1200MK2s. I seldom use them anymore, as I have copied all of my vinyls to .wav's (through a tube-type processor, no less). 🙂
