I know they are darn handy, but I cant spend that much a month for "just in case". The most useful time for a cell phone, that I wish I had one, is when someone else is picking me up from the airport and they have a cell.

Yeah I buckled in June and bought one. I had one before but didn't use it much because it was a bit bulky, didn't work outside of local area, and was just a pain in the ass but the new one with t-mobile is nice.

totally agree

it costs me $40 a month after taxes so i figure if it so if it only saves me 3 hours a month of hassle making only $13 /hr it is worth it but it saves me from a lot more than that

Never had one, and don't plan on getting one. The wife works at a cell phone company and gets a free phone. I usually just take it if I'm going out of town.

I was in the no, not ever category until last week. I bought the Virgin pay as you go. That is only for on the road emergencies. I cannot justify to myself the $30 /month basic service while paying for my home phone. And yes, I need to keep my home phone over a cell.

I have had one since high school, I am now 23 and don't even have a home phone!! I would have been pissed if the "hands-free" law would have been passed in Texas. I couldn't live without one, nor do i want to.

I didn't have a cell phone until October of last year. Now I get nervous whenever I go places where I don't get reception. I really couldn't go anywhere without it. People are right, if you don't think you need it, don't get it because you'll never be able to get rid of it.
