Poll: Do you Overclock your home PC?

I needed to vote 1 Yes and 1 No, but instead I just voted 1 Yes. My wife's computer is not overclocked while mine is.

Home PC? As opposed to a work PC? Why would you overclock a work PC? If it's not fast enough, the company buys a new one.

Assuming you work for a generous company that is. You never know man... I've heard of some BS jobs before where people had to work on wicked old machines because their bosses were stingy private-sector entrepreneurs.

You'd be surprised. I just wanted to be precise with my wording. Details never hurt.

What's the big deal?

It's rare to get a simple answer to a simple question. People here like "but's" and "what if's" 😀 If you wanted to be more cut and dry, you could say "Do you use an overclocked PC?" hehe

There isn't a big deal. I'm just telling you you will be no more closer to knowing then before the poll, that's all.

on myu computer, yes. the other computer no..

but i voted yes because i use my own computer.

but ... hahahha

my other computer has an oc'ed Radeon 7500 but i haven't yet touched the OC capabilities of my Radeon 9700 Pro

Well, this is a computer enthusiast board and this is mainly an overclocking forum... so your results may be a bit skewed 🙂

But yes I overclock moderately with my silent setup.

yes, see sig.

Nick, out of curiosity... what voltage are you allocating to your Mushkin DDR to get it running at 2-2-2-5?

That's pretty good man... it was supposedly only known to achieve 2-2-2-6 on NForce 7 boards.

Make that plural - both my PC's are overclocked. My mom's Thunderbird 750 is modded to run on a 133MHz bus, and is at 800MHz. My dad won't have anything to do with overclocking. He almost seems to be afraid of it.🙂

The office where my dad works - just maybe 2 years ago, he got an upgrade from a Pentium. Yes, the original Pentium. For database/network/Office2k type work. The boss of that place is the definition of the word "cheap" as well as a few other words inappropriate for this forum.😱

Hey, at my last job I worked for 4 years on a P133, and it was fine for almost everything! I finally got upgraded to a 1.1G Celaron! You have to remember, the office aps used most don't take anywhere near the "horsepower" that even average games do...

When you create this poll on a CPU/Processors and Overclocking forum, you'll expect that an overwhelming response would be "yes"! 😀
