Not endorsing facebook does not make you antisocial. Some people enjoy real life interaction with people. You know, like dinner with friends. Or maybe you don't know...

Not all of my friends/family are local. It's nice to see what my friends in Maine are doing when they post a pic of them and their kids from the weekend. It's nice to see what my friend from India is up to.

It's nice having a medium to stay in contact more often then trying to time a phone call when there's a 12 hour time difference or driving 5 hours to find out what someone did for the weekend.

Sounds like it depends on how large one social network is and how much free time one person has.

My opinion is based on how I feel about interacting with REAL people face to face rather than their pseudo personalities through an electronic device... I do not have to have evidence.

As we are discussing my opinions; it is also my opinion that people that have a cell phone glued to their hand texting, and communicating via face book with their friends and family are displaying WAY MORE Antisocial behavior than I do by actually interacting face to face or talking on a phone.

Just so you know:

Not having a face book account does not equal antisocial behavior, nor does it equal not having any friends. If it does for you, then you must have a very sad little life.

Your first statement demonstrates the ignorance of your opinion. You may not lead a busy life that allows you to travel and interact with your friends and family when they're available but for the majority of folks, that's not the case.

Yeah yeah, we get it. You love being a sociopath.
You haven't a fucking clue as to the definition of that word, do you?
Being antisocial doesn't make being social useless. Antisocial behavior is a negative behavior.

Do you just believe the parts of your sacred book that are convenient for you, or do you subconsciously think that it's all bullshit?

My first post I was being a smart ass... K

My others I was stating that I have no use for it and against defending the retarded people that ASSume that just because you don't have a face book acct that you are antisocial / have no friends or family. Interacting in person or on the phone is more social than via Face Book.

That is millions of times more stupid that my original " smart ass " comment about not being a 15 year old girl. Any moron would have seen this for what it was.

My opinion is based on My feelings and not Your feelings. If you want to use it fine I really do not care. Everyone doesn't have to conform to your thought process and it doesn't make them ignorant.

I get that part of it, no doubt. How does this have to do with what I said about being antisocial?

I use facebook to schedule events to interact with people face to face. IT IS A TOOL! It does not in any way reduce your normal interaction, it can actually increase it. That is exactly why your opinion is baseless. People without facebook always say this but it isn't true at all.

With facebook I know whenever a tournament is going on within 50 miles. I know when a local band is having a concert somewhere. I know when my friends have decided to go do something spur of the moment. I keep up on distant family news. I get daily deals and updates on LOTS of local events.

And a lot of that stuff isn't found anywhere on the internet except Facebook. You are missing out on the usefulness of Facebook whether you are willing to believe it or not. It is not what you think it is and never has been.

Wow, great argument. Bravo!

And yes, focusing on your life and only your life because it's the only thing that you think matters and hating interacting with others on the basis that their lives are "irrelevant" could be construed as very antisocial behavior.

The hallmark of ASPD is arrest-worthy violations of other people's rights. I'm sure you feel oppressed because JackBurton doesn't want to be your friend, but it's not even in the ballpark for being sociopathic.

I've had one for a few years and the more I use it the more I hate people. It's an incredibly good tool for attention whoring, which is how the majority of my "friends" use it (e.g. way too many status updates about crap, irregularly posting on others' facebook, as if they are just screaming in a room to be heard the loudest). I often go on friend-killing sprees (figuratively). I just went on another one and am struggling to know why I keep anybody except normal family/actual friends on it.

Anyway, answer!

I thought deleting mine would solve that problem. So I started talking to some real people. Bumped into some RL Redditors. Talked to all the pretty ladies. I hate them too, because people are stupid.

I use my Facebook to troll, Grammar Nazi, and spam witty retorts.

It is my opinion and based on what I have observed from people that do use it and how I feel about it.

Good it works for you, I have no use for it.

IRONY.

Ok here it is, since you still haven't figured it out yet. You think it is useless because you prefer actual interaction, but stating this opinion on an anonymous internet message board. Facebook involves actual interaction with real people that leads to a better social experience.

You can refuse to use it all you want, but my point is simple. You are a hypocrite to your own philosophies and have proved it. So you can either go make a Facebook account right now or commit seppuku. The choice is yours.:colbert:

You do realize what you just said makes no sense, right?

my guess is the people who don't use it and are vehement about not using it don't have friends, and they are angry they don't friends, not at facebook itself, and only use that as an excuse

Look, dipshit; true sociopaths are the most skilled social butterflies in the human race. Being a shut-in just doesn't fit their MO.

Like I said; you have no fucking clue what that word means.

You're also a moron.

If you actually knew what a sociopath was, you'd know I was right.

But, if you just want to be a willfully ignorant troll, that's fine with me.

Hope your dumb ass gets banned again. Soon.

We can make this argument all day, bravo. Do you have anything to say that's not crappy insults and regurgitated crap?

Sorry to disappoint, but my chances at getting banned are (very) low. Nice job at trying to be schneiderguy, too. Very original.

how does facebook give u a better chance with women?

With college girls it does. If you meet a girl and she is curious about you she will check out facebook to find out more about you. Not having a facebook raises some flags and makes people wonder about you since you are outside the norm. The same things applies about texting.

Older age groups, this does not apply obviously.

had for a few months until I realized that anyone I'm not in contact with in other ways is not anyone I really want any sort of contact with anyway.

This isn't about anonymous internet message boards. Which I have been posting in probably since you were in diapers or before. ( BBS's)

Facebook involves actual interaction with real people that leads to a better social experience.

OK It trips your trigger. That is fine with me. ( Notice I didn't call you a moron for using it. )

No, I am not a hypocrite. But I know what you are... I will never have a face book account
