In my experience people either love Dave Matthews and his merry band or they detest them with a venom normally reserved for murderers and politicians.

Partly cause my gf loves them-

And Partly because they remind me of Hippie Music

BUT Dave is very talented and I respect him for that. Just don't care for the music.

I find his music to be inoffensive, though mildly annoying if played for too long. So I pretty much regard him in the same manner as I regard Phish.

I find the music very refreshing. It's a lot better than most of the crap on the radio today. It all sounds the same for the most part,
with the only difference being who sings what. It's C-R-A-P.

The DMB has a unique sound, which some people do not like.

His voice annoys the hell out of me.

I'm not a huge fan of acoustic guitar in the first place, but he has guitar skills. His vocals are pure crap however. Hence, why I dislike his music.

He's a grass roots band and rose to the top through hard touring. You gotta respect that. His voice is kinda weird and he definitely plays his own style very well....he just needs to concentrate on what he does best and stop trying to be something that he's not like he did with "Everyday". DMB is on the downward spiral because they've already reached their peak... (94-99 were the best years for their writing)

I used to absolutely hate their music. Partially because of his voice and partially because of all the music sheep that just went along with everyone else and thought DMB was the greatest. Now, I absolutely love them. I took the time to actually listen to the music and get used to his voice and I was blown away. Seeing them live is incredible. I have tickets to 4 shows this summer (Saratoga NY, Darien NY and the 2 at Camden, NJ) and I'm stoked!
