I like modernised classical music or songs with classical music samples....Rob Dougan does some excellent ones....but I do like the odd original classical or classical music from soundtracks.

I'm big into orchestral movie soundtracks, which has its roots in classical music. As such, I love listening to Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Tschaikovsky, Saint Saens, Respighi, Sibelius, and other such composers that were big from about 1880-1920. Of course, Gershwin, Bernstein, Copland, Grofe, and Hanson composed some great American pieces that are worth listening to.

"Modern" classical music from folks like Philip Glass and John Adams interests me ocassionally, but I haven't heard enough of it to make a real judgement on whether I like it or not.

I don't really like listening to anything before Beethoven's time. Mozart, Vivaldi, and Haydn are all boring to me. The only exception to the rule is the ocassional Fugue from Bach.

I'm more of a romantic music person m'self, classical music's a bit formulaic in general...

I play quite a lot of Ravel and Debussy on the piano and it's interesting listening to how other people play my repertoire.

anyone who claims to like music and doesn't listen to ANY classical music at all, has NO appreciation for the classics does not really love music.

oh btw, Rap is not music.

Ok, so now I'm confused... were you really kidding or just being an ass with the rolly eyes😉? If you were kidding, you should indicte such in your post and if you weren't kidding you should try listening to rap that isn't on BET, MTV or most rap radio stations.

i was j/k about rap not being music.

the rolling eyes was because you did.

I'll listen, but really only as background music. It's not something that I'll listen intently to without doing something else.
