Poll!Do you listen music for the lyrics, or for the beat?

Whatever style of music you are listening, are you listening music because it got a cool beat or because it got good lyrics that you love?...or both?

Lyrics are just something somebody came up with to fil a good song.

Music FTW

On Edit: Your poll sucks. Real music rocks, it does not have a "beat".

having one w/o the other usually sucks but heavy on lyrics and light on the music can be great (a lot ofDylan) as well as heavy on the music with few lyrics (a lot of Pink Floyd)

A lot of times lyrics are just filler, or you can't decipher them, but that doesn't prevent me from enjoying a song.
Lyrics are secondary.

For groups like TMBG though it's more about the lyrics, AFAIC.

Me, its the beat that make me enjoy music.I listen heavy metal music, and honestly, i need to a good beat to enjoy the song.I dont care if the lyric sucks, i just need a good beat

its the beat for me.. i ignore lyrics for the most part.. i just don't care to hear people sing over perfectly good beatz! i mean.. ill give it to jerry garcia, robert plant, and some others.. but i listen to a lot of drum and bass, trance, techno, jungle, industrial, etc.. so theres not much lyrics anyway

lyrics are songs. quality of the instrumentation also makes up a good song.
however, some of the most powerful songs in the world have the simplist chords...

when you call it a 'beat' your just listening to noise which happens to be in rythm

The combination of the music in the background, and how the pitch of the lyrics mixes in with that music.
I'm one of those people that blindly sing along to music sometimes.
