Do you?

If you do, list some reasons.

If you don't, list some reasons.

If you don't like it, what have you done to change that and how is it going now?

For those that voted that you don't like your job I'm wondering... do you REALLY dislike it or are you kinda just like ahh well it's a job but it doesn't affect me stress wise thus I don't want to quit or find something new.

sure I do. I get to work on computers part time, which I like, and the people are pretty cool. It doesn't hold a candle to my last job enjoyment-wise, but the pay is much better.

No because customers call from places that english is not their first language. Thus they constantly speak soft, yell at me because I cannot understand them and get upset about things that is not in my control.

What am I doing about it?

Tomorrow I'm going to hit up an Adecco hiring agency to see if they can get me anything that does not deal with customers.

I'd take a hit in pay, even go to part-time if the job was not as stressful and did not deal with customers.

I'd love to be a network admin's protege and just you know, help unplug cat5 cables, or install a hard drive etc. That would rock, I'd take the job for like $9.00 an hour if at all possible.

for the most part.

there are certain facets of it that annoy me (the stress, having to fix up other people's mistakes, etc), but overall, I enjoy my job.

I made a vow a few jobs back that if I ever woke up and my first thought was about how much I hate my job and didn't want to go to work, I'd quit. life is too short to waste time in a job that you loathe.

if I ever got fired, though, I'd leave the tech biz. forever and go back to grad school to get my PhD in English Lit.

Nope!

I work for Auntie Annes, and i'm sick of that place. I can't stand the customers or my co-workers. I'm waiting for my vacation pay to get into my paycheck (vacation time is May 23rd to the 30th), waiting for that paycheck, then sending out resumes/applying for another job, once I get accepted, I'm going to let my current manager have his two weeks, and i'm gone!

I expect to get to another job sometime in early July, earlier the better though. Maybe I can find a way to cut down the length of getting into a new job into Late June... hrm...

overall yes. my boss is a good guy who looks out for me. I work with a lot of hot women who have good personalities. pay is pretty good, no one bitches when I'm half an hour late or spend time on ATOT. I can leave for a little in the afternoon to bring FS/FT packages to the post office ;)

p.s. acteon I could go for one of those pretzel dogs!!

Retail at Walgreens blows ass for me. I'm a computer geek and an engineer. I'm not meant to smile at people and direct questions to the pharmacist all day. I want to be the one who answers them where I work. I want to feel needed for my brain... not just some stock boy who can lift more than anyone else there (which is now the case).

Retail sucks, but from what my father says, "As long as you're working for the man, EVERY job is retail."

Yes It's a part time job I have while I study.
Working in a law firm, doing different office stuff.

Basically the job is pretty boring, but it has these benefits:
High salery for a study job ($20/hour)
Very good lunch
Nice colleagues
I can decide when I'll work, so I can work when not having classes
Good possibilities for extra work in hollidays

I love it. I'm a librarian in the UCLA Music Library. I love my bosses, I love doing homework while working, and I love that I can "borrow" as many CDs as I want. I hate the patrons, though. But luckily the rest makes up for it.

fackin ate et

edit: forgot some witty reasons

well, i work with largely uneducated people. as unabashedly self-revealing as they are, when it's all said and done they're pretty stupid and don't see anything wrong with it. they sure like to b!tch about how pooer they are, yet never make any effort to make more money or get a better skillset. (i just got home from work. can ya tell?) the pay is sh!te, but who wants to be middle-class? i mean, really.

on the plus side the work is mind-numbingly easy and after two years people just stopped asking personal questions. hell, they don't even talk to me as long as i do the work and do it fast.

big big smile.

*points to the big blue blob surrounding his home county*

as much as everyone disses on NJ, it pwns every other state outside of Mass/CT/VT in terms of liberals :D

I love my job, I set my own hours, I get to boss employees around and I get to meet a lot of fine people.

Well, since I just started a new job (transferred to a different department) I can't really say. I transferred because phone support sucks and I wanted to get out of it. I'm a Network Technician, which is what I always wanted to do and what I have done in the past. The past two days have been great, so I think I'll like my new job. :)

Definately. I'm working in a place I want to, even though I don't get paid much. I have alotta friends here, it's a very social and relaxed atmosphere.

As far as actual work, I liked it better before. But the location (home) is better now than before.

It's like anything else, good & bad days & points, 18 years with the same employer now.

Generally yes, BUT, the bulk of my co workers/support staff are minorities/socioeconomically disadvantaged (or still have that mindset, even though they've crawled out of the dung heap) , and they can be problematic:(

Guess I'm a bigot for even daring to have that opinion:(
