I can open a .pdf in gpdf in linux in about the same amount of time that it'd take to open the equivalent .html file in firefox. It loads in a flash, doesn't crash, and looks good. Adobe Reader is suck.

I agree. PDFs are good but Acrobat Reader sucks especially the latest one (6, I think?) I've reverted back to 5.1 just because 6 was so spectacularly unresponsive and alltogether BAD. Postscript files work well as well for the same kind of task.

I use to hate PDF's until they patched Reader 6. This, along with Firefox 0.8 is super stable, much better than with Firebird .7 where my machine would freeze for 60 seconds every time a PDF loaded.

I much prefer html or php, however PDF is a lot better than some proprietary MS crap.

i like the idea. something that will look/print the same on any platform or computer.
but the files seem to large, and acrobat can be very slow.

Yeah, its sad how many times that the stupid reader client has crashed....

I agree. To those who say it never carshes, they have not used long enough.

Works for me most of the time. Not the best format though.
