Just wondering what people think? I'm cooking for a date, and I want to do something more "classy" than ice cream or whatever.

Edit: Sorry... I added the answers as questions, and therefore had no answers.
 
Slop some cheap ice cream in a bowl and squirt on some chocolate stuff. Top with canned whip cream and a few walnuts. If you really want to impress her put a cherry on top.
 
I love flan, but for me it's like a common dessert than a special one.

This is what always gets raves for me:

Take the best fresh strawberries you can find... clean but leave the stems on. Optional: using a hypodermic needle and syringe, inject with Grand Marnier or similar flavoring.

Gently melt Ghiardelli chocolate chips.

Dip strawberries in melted chocolate, then cool on wax paper/refrigerate.

I've never missed with that one!

seriously, its a difficult dessert and very very easily messed up to where you have a bowl of goo.

make a pineapple upside down cake instead.
