I go just for the open bar.
Your gift/money will pay for that anyway..

No kidding. No matter how well I know them, they get at least $100 GC from us. I don't mind going to 1 or 2 a year, but after that, it gets expensive. Especially this year. I'm in Wisconsin, and I've been to 1 in Texas, and will be going to NY for one in a month.

Never said I brought a gift. ;)

Actually the weddings I have gone to I was in no way responsible for bringing a gift.

Another excuse to get dressed up, drink, dance and party? Why the hell not? I don't mind shelling out for presents - these are my friends.

just had my wedding last month and I am looking forward to other people's wedding! I'll just have to show up instead of taking care of million things.

hmm... we won't have an open bar... (chinese wedding)... but coworkers (not chinese) will be going... guess I'll have to reconsider the alcohol factor...

Fun, but sooo fvcking expensive. Plane tickets, lodging, presents, bachelor parties...ugh...I'm still broke from my friends' wedding in the beginning of June.

I've got 5 this year. I'm in two. Getting to be expensive just in airfare to fly me, the wife, and the kid to all these places. Unfortunately, none of them are local.

I never did like going to weddings.... Hmmm, My mother is remarrying in August 2005... I guess that's one I get to go to next year, I've already been to one this year.... Come to think of it, I average about 1 per year, the best part is the open bar for sure though.

Depends.
if with the girlfriend, no, too much pressure knowing she is thinking about doing the same

With friends yes, a lot of hot, sad girls watching their friends getting married. Makes for some good and easy fun (not that I would actually do anything, just that I know I can)...
